Since the turn of the century, the name Wolverine has been near synonymous with Hugh Jackman. The Australian actor has owned the role since the release of X-Men in 2000, and had become the single most recognizable face from the entire X-Men cinematic franchise, making at least a cameo in almost every film released in the universe. The news that the actor would be retiring from the role following the upcoming Wolverine 3 no doubt leaves the hearts of many X-fans reeling as they try to imagine the future of the franchise without Jackman’s presence.
