Lionsgate and Saban’s 2017 Power Rangers movie is a big screen reboot of the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers TV show and the Power Rangers property in general. Between the official images and the trailer footage released so far, longtime Power Ranger now understand that this film is indeed a proper re-imagining of the franchise – one that puts a more grounded, yet stylish stamp on the original mythology, similar to what Power Rangers director Dean Israelite did with such fantastical concepts as time-travel in his feature length debut, the found-footage adventure Project Almanac.
