For a standalone film based on a phenomenally obscure property, Guardians of the Galaxy certainly made a name for itself in the annals of pop culture. The film made the likes of Rocket and Groot (not to mention, Chris Pratt) household names, and blew the door off the Marvel Cinematic Universe with a massive, yet deeply personal, space opera.
