Ridley Scott burst onto the Hollywood scene in 1979 with Alien, a film that successfully launched a sci-fi franchise that has explored nearly every idea, both good and bad, that they can think of. However, when Fox wanted to hand control over to Neill Blomkamp, Scott stepped in to pitch his direction for the franchise.
