Out of the many, many fascinating characters that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story introduced, one of the most prominent was Saw Gerrera (who existed already in the Star Wars universe prior to the film, thanks to his brief role in The Clone Wars series). Played by Forest Whitaker, the character’s role not only in Jyn Erso’s life, but in the entire political machinations of the Rebel Alliances seemed to be one of the largest, most interesting tangents that Rogue One briefly glossed over.
In result, the character’s arc from a passionate freedom fighter in The Clone Wars to the paranoid, barely alive leader that was shown in Rogue One has been one shrouded in a veil of mystery. Apparently, fans aren’t the only ones intrigued by Saw’s ...
