Warner Bros.’ upcoming live-action Tomb Raider reboot became very interesting when it announced that Academy Award-winner Alicia Vikander was going to be playing Lara Croft, a critically-acclaimed actress that not many might have thought would sign on for a video game adaptation. After her impressive work in films like Ex Machina and The Danish Girl, she’s one of the most sought-after actresses working today, so it seems reasonable to believe that the reboot must have offered her something truly exciting for her to sign on not only as its lead, but also to play a character like Lara Croft for presumably, multiple films, if the reboot is successful.
