When Grand Admiral Thrawn made his first appearance in Timothy Zahn’s Heir to the Empire novel (which eventually added two more books, Dark Force Rising and The Last Command, becoming The Thrawn Trilogy), he instantly became a fan favorite amongst readers of the Star Wars Expanded Universe – now called Legends.
