In Stephen King’s The Dark Tower, the Gunslingers were sworn to protect their world; apprenticed from a young age, they were taught to fire with lightning quick speed, and to always remember the face of their fathers – a nod to the legacy that has gone before them. The weight of being a gunslinger bears heavy and as such, they were a solemn breed, perhaps none more so that Roland Deschain. The last of his line, Roland is played by Idris Elba in The Dark Tower movie, directed by Nikolaj Arcel.
