Director Jon Watts says he’s probably returning to direct the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming. Despite being the third Spider-Man film released in the last five years, the hype surrounding Spider-Man: Homecoming is considerably high at this point. While that’s no doubt thanks to the fact that Tom Holland’s introduction as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War last year was so well-received either, it also has to do with the film’s marketing and trailers up until this point. With a comedic, coming-of-age story tone and premise, the film looks to be the kind of Spider-Man film that genuinely hasn’t been seen on the big screen up until this point.
