The trend in Hollywood has often been to move away from original content and recycle proven cartoon franchises from the 1980s, including Transformers, G.I. Joe, Jem, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and The Smurfs. The trend is continuing with the He-Man film that’s now in active development and quite possibly a ThunderCats movie, somewhere down the line.
ThunderCats (the film version) has been stuck in development limbo for some time, but fans are still holding out hope that it will eventually come together. Those same fans will often dream-up ideal casts for movie adaptations like ThunderCats and occasionally, a celebrity will throw their own hat in the ring – which is what Milla Jovovich has now done.
