Some decades-old franchises (Blade Runner, for example) are returning to theaters for the first time in years with sequels/revivals in 2017 and the same holds true for 2018. One property that returns in the latter year is Predator, the sci-fi action/thriller franchise that began in 1987 with Predator – directed by Die Hard helmsman John McTiernan and starring Arnold Schwarzenegger – and was last seen in theaters in 2010, with the installment titled Predators. Original Predator costar Shane Black is now writing and directing a sequel/reboot of the franchise simply titled The Predator, with an early 2018 release date target in mind.
