Before the DC Extended Universe was officially created, Zack Snyder was one of the people responsible for setting it into motion. Snyder’s second DC-related film Man of Steel introduced the world to Henry Cavill as Superman but stopped short of introducing bigger things, like a world filled with recognizable DC characters. Later, however, Snyder’s Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice expanded the burgeoning universe in several ways, like bridging the gap between that film and Zod’s attack on Metropolis, as well introducing several other important metahumans.
